In Slavic folklore, an Alkonost is a beautiful woman with the body of a bird. Known for having a hypnotic voice, they have the ability to immobilize people to in order to hear her song. They lay eggs along seashores, then placed into the ocean where they lay dormant until hatched, causing tumultuous storms.
